Our main reasons for doing so is because it now is completely old technology. Only about 5% of internet users are still using IE6. Microsoft itself does not support IE6 anymore. Many other websites have followed suit, Youtube to mention just one.
Anyone who does want development done, or site to be compatible with IE6 will be charged for the extra development time involved.
* EDIT, Just heard that Microsoft WILL in fact still support IE6 until 2014. Baws to that and no, that will not change our mind to support it again.
