Blogs & social media
There is no better way to market a website than by getting your products and services mentioned on as many websites and blogs as possible.
Not only do the links help you raise your Google pagerank, but also your website link will be seen by more and more people every day.
Getting mentioned on blogs can be the easiest thing in the world if you have the right product but unless you know how to promote your product to bloggers the likelihood you will create a successful blogstorm is pretty slim. Start engaging with bloggers and find out what they like, perhaps meet up with some to get expert guidance on what they write about and why.

(Old Story but still very important to small businesses who need email, office and collaborative tools)
Google has quietly dropped the “beta” tag from all their main applications:
- GMail (or Google Mail in some countries)
- Google Docs
- Google Talk
- Google Calendar
It is also apparent that beta has been removed from Google Reader, Google Translate and Google Maps.

As from today we will not support IE6 anymore or develop websites for it. All websites that have been built up to now supported IE6.
Our main reasons for doing so is because it now is completely old technology. Only about 5% of internet users are still using IE6. Microsoft itself does not support IE6 anymore. Many other websites have followed suit, Youtube to mention just one.
Anyone who does want development done, or site to be compatible with IE6 will be charged for the extra development time involved.

The term, Web 2.0, has become so common that it's now almost one of those labels that everyone knows, but nobody knows the definition of. Well I would say there is no clear definition, I like to think of it as new thinking, openess, bravery and strategy, all with a little help of technology.
In a nutshell, Web 2.0 is an approach to the internet characterized by the following mechanisms and functions:
- facilitating communication,
- collaboration,
- interoperability/interaction,
- information sharing
- FEEDBACK and commenting

This is a very short but very usefull wee blog written by Stefan Mischook.
Original Article: http://www.killersites.com
This article was written more for web designers and how to build good sites, but I think the information is just as important for the client to know, hopefully understanding why certain decisions about a website are taken in the development process.
What are the ‘Universal Principles’ … and how do they apply to the business of web design?
